I think the heat is getting to me.

Kentucky is hot right now. I think need a watercooling system for my body. They're probably selling pretty good right about now. I saw a commercial for one on TV yesterday. They called it a "pool."

Anyway, disregarding the heat as I may there is a lot of things going on right about now!
Valve has recently released information (which has already become old news) that Half-Life: Episode 2 will include TeamFortress 2 and another interesting game called Portal. The descriptions I've read for Portal astound me and have developed an extreme interest. I haven't seen any information to indicate that this is a multiplayer game, although it is certainly singleplayer. Couple this information with the fact that Nintendo will surely be releasing the Wii on about the same time and I'm going to be in serious financial trouble.
Actually I derive pleasure from the fact that I won't be in serous financial trouble because I have no intention of getting a Sony Playstation 3. I don't know how they can expect to stay in business by charging that much (ie. $500-$600 per console) and still take a loss on it. By the way, it's not that I'm a Nintendo fanboy or anything, I just like the features that the Wii presents more than having just another XBOX or Playstation with upgraded internal components. I will admit though I am lusting over the thought of playing games like Assassin's Creed. Because once you reach the peak of graphical power, all the CPU's excessive processing power becomes a use it or lose it situation. I'm looking forward to another generation of games that use that power for better gameplay. After all, how many nice-looking games have there been that had no AI to speak of?

Speaking of games I'm looking forward to, BF2142 and Quake Wars seem to be set to directly compete. It'll be interesting to see how these two big-name franchises fare against each other. I don't know what the release dates are for either of these, but they both look interesting. I'll have to look that information up for everyone. I'm sure you are all dying to find out. (if so, then google it, because it might be a while)
I'm also looking forward to hearing and seeing more about Red Steel by Ubisoft. It'll be fun to see how this will work out on the Wii. I've read about the control scheme already, and it appears to include something similiar to Max Payne's bullet-time.
In the meantime, you're welcome to visit Blackmage's forums and drop me a line. Adios amigos!
